Trish Brice

Trish was diagnosed with Usher Syndrome Type 2a by an ophthalmologist when she noticed some changes to her vision in her early 20’s.
Trish strives to maintain an active lifestyle, and recently fulfilled two challenges to celebrate her 40th birthday; she completed the Coastrek 30km where she raised funds for the Fred Hollows Foundation, and she returned to skiing after years avoiding the slopes due to her vision loss.
Trish does not let her vision or hearing loss limit her, and is able to work (almost) full time in her role as a Town Planner thanks to technology and flexibility to ‘work from home’.

Trish is an active member of the Australian Usher community and recorded the below video for the Usher Syndrome Coalition Connections Conference – Usher Panel in June, 2022.
