We had the privilege of attending the IRD Patient & Family Engagement Day, bringing together people impacted by inherited retinal disease, researchers, and clinicians.
The day was full of curiosity, conversation, and collaboration, showing just how vital lived experience is in shaping research that truly meets the needs of families and individuals with IRDs, including Usher syndrome.
A huge thank you to the organisers Children’s Medical Research Institute Stem Cell Medicine Group and UNSW Sydney (School of Clinical Medicine / Medicine & Health), the speakers, and the tight-knit IRD community for making this day so inspiring.
